Biography —
Chanté currently serves as a Consulting Services Specialist and Instructor at the KU Public Management Center.
Previously, Chanté held significant roles in enhancing civic engagement and local government learning. As the Director of Strategic Partnerships at Polco, she was pivotal in facilitating dynamic communication and partnership between government associations, community leaders and citizens to create dynamic and innovative programming, community and learning opportunities.
She served as the National Program Director at ELGL (Engaging Local Government Leaders) spearheading the ELGL Cohort Programs where she managed educational groups focusing on local government, from creating curricula with experts to fostering engaging participant interactions. Additionally, Chanté was also integral to the Diversity Dashboard project, gathering vital demographic data on local government employees, and developed DEI strategies to broaden organizational membership.
Outside of her professional life, Chanté is actively involved in her community. She serves as the Board President for the KUCIMAT alumni group, volunteers with Big Brothers Big Sisters, and is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Her roles, both professional and volunteer, highlight her commitment to public service and community development, leveraging her expertise to impact various levels of governance and civic participation.
