Biography

Bianca Boyd is a doctoral trainee in the counseling psychology program at the University of Kansas (KU), specializing in vocational and psychological wellness. With over 9 years of dedicated service to diverse populations in community and university settings, Bianca brings a wealth of expertise and passion to the field.

Prior to joining the team, Bianca worked at the University of Kansas Medical Center, facilitating work wellbeing groups tailored specifically for women of color serving as medical practitioners. Through this initiative, Bianca helped to address the unique challenges facing women in the medical profession and provided support in navigating their career journeys. Additionally, Bianca served as a vocational therapist at Oklahoma State University (OSU) for 4 years. During this time, she provided individual counseling services to students, alums, and community members experiencing mental and emotional concerns due to vocational issues.

Bianca loves teaching and training and has created course content and career development classes for students at KU. Each summer, she also provides culturally responsive vocational training to career advisors.

With a bachelor’s degree in public relations and master’s degrees in both Student Affairs-Higher Education and Clinical Mental Health, Bianca brings diverse experiences and perspectives to her work and training. More importantly, she is deeply committed to providing inclusive care to all individuals and organizations she serves.
